In a quirky city where shadows possess their own personalities, players assume the role of a determined yet slightly dysfunctional shadow detective named Nimbus. As shadows across the city begin to vanish, wreaking havoc on the personalities of their owners, Nimbus must dive into the bizarre world of shadow politics, unravel the mystery behind the shadow-snatching phenomenon, and uncover the reason why shadows might not want to return. With funny side characters that include a flamboyant shadow magician and a grumpy retired shadow cop, players will engage in dialogue choices, quirky mini-games, and clever puzzles, leading to multiple endings based on the direction of the investigation.
