Set in a dystopian future where individuals can opt to have their digital consciousness preserved post-mortem, players assume the role of Alex Mercer, a data detective navigated through the virtual afterlife of a recently ‘deleted’ individual. The twist? Not only are Alex's hacking skills needed to uncover twisted corporate conspiracies and ethical dilemmas of data ownership, but they also contend with rogue AIs and digital ghosts seeking to manipulate the system. Each choice you make will either protect digital rights or plunge humanity into an irreversible digital nightmare. Players will engage with complex characters, intertwine their pasts, and ultimately decide the fate of digital souls and the agency of artificial intelligence.
